Pretend: dress up, crashing cars, bricks, tea party, dolly sleeping, dinosaur chasing man
Real hide and seek, not just peek-a-a boo. Hide a doll and say ‘Where is the dolly?’
Picture-books: looking at pictures together and telling a simple story. Do NOT just read the words, but have a conversation about what’s happening in the pictures.
Drawing: family-members, cars, animals, people, ‘the story of today/yesterday’ and other situations child is interested in, e.g. dog doing wee (do NOT guide child’s hand!)
Little people and animals, dolls house, farm yard, garage (but avoid too much with cars)
Sequencing: cards, pictures, objects, …
Putting things in like groups/categories (red cars, blue dogs, …), planning out schedules
Board games - ‘Snakes and Ladders’, Bingo, Memory, …
Complex pretend play (making up stories about animals, dolls, etc.)
'Double double this this’, Hot Potato. ‘Who ate the cookie?’, …
Outings: talk about it before and after, replay and draw it

Duck, duck, goose
Musical Chairs
Tag (with proper rules)
Drawing faces with emotions
Treasure hunt games
Obstacle courses
Baseball, T-ball, Dodge ball
